About Us

The South Shore Sea Dragons were founded by Aimee Sears-Sutton and Kerri Moran - both alumni of the Wheaton College Artistic Swim team and the Swogjan Swim Club.

The South Shore Sea Dragons currently practice at Percy Walker Pool in Duxbury, MA and Ageless Yoga in Pembroke.

What is
Artistic Swimming?

Artistic swimming formerly known as synchronized swimming is a unique sport requiring a combination of overall strength, endurance, flexibility, grace, and artistry.  Swimmers perform choreographed routines to music. In 1952, synchronized swimming showcased at the Olympic Games and it became an official Olympic event in 1984. The sport is governed internationally by World Aquatics.

What is a Typical Practice Like?

Swimmers will participate in land work, swim workouts, and synchro-specific drills.
They will work on figures, which are individual movements in the water as well as routines (teams, trios, duets and solos).

Are there any Prerequisites to Join the Team?

No prior artistic swimming skills are needed to join our team.  Swimmers should be at least 6-years old and be able to swim 50 yards (2 laps).  Artistic swimmers do not use the bottom of the pool so swimmers should be comfortable treading water in the deep end.

I'm Interested!
 What should I do?

We are always looking for athletes with a love of music and water sports to join our team.  Just grab a swimsuit, cap, goggles and nose clip and hop in!  New swimmers can always try a practice for free.  For more information about joining our team, please contact us at [email protected]
