About Us

The South Shore Sea Dragons were founded by Aimee Sears-Sutton and Kerri Moran - both alumni of the Wheaton College Artistic Swim team and the Swogjan Swim Club.

The South Shore Sea Dragons currently practice at Percy Walker Pool in Duxbury, MA and Ageless Yoga in Pembroke.

What is
Artistic Swimming?

Artistic Swimming—formerly known as synchronized swimming—is a dynamic sport that blends strength, endurance, flexibility, grace, and artistry. Athletes perform choreographed routines set to music, combining athletic skill with creative expression. The sport made its Olympic debut as a showcase in 1952 and became an official Olympic event in 1984. Today, it is governed internationally by World Aquatics.

What is a Typical Practice Like?

Swimmers take part in a variety of training activities, including land exercises, swim workouts, and artistic swimming–specific drills. They develop their skills in figures—individual movements performed in the water—and work on choreographed routines in team, trio, duet, and solo formats.

Are there any Prerequisites to Join the Team?

No prior artistic swimming experience is required to join our team. Swimmers must be at least 6 years old and able to swim 25 yards independently. Because artistic swimmers perform without touching the bottom of the pool, participants should also be comfortable treading water in the deep end.

I'm Interested!
 What should I do?

We’re always excited to welcome athletes who love music and water sports to our team! All you need is a swimsuit, cap, goggles, and a nose clip—then hop in and give it a try. New swimmers are welcome to attend their first practice for free. For more information about joining, please contact us at [email protected]
