Novice & Intermediate Competitive Programs
These programs are designed for swimmers who want to participate in the full artistic swimming experience. Novice competitive swimmers will learn basic figures, technical elements and a full length routine. Intermediate competitive swimmers will learn more advanced elements, figures, and routines. Novice team is a great for beginners and those with some recreational team experience. To move to intermediate, athletes should have completed at least one year on the novice team or have special permission from the coaching staff. The competition teams will participate in fun, local synchro meets. Emphasis will be placed on team work, friendship and confidence. Beginners and swimmers with synchro experience are welcome to participate on the competitive teams. Please contact the coaches for more information about our Competition Team. Meets Swimmers will learn figures and routines which they will swim before a panel of judges. The team will participate in local meets and clinics . Previous meets were held in Norton, MA (Wheaton College), Worcester, MA (YWCA), Nashua, NH (Boys & Girls Club), Andover, MA (YMCA), Cambridge, MA (War Memorial Recreational Center), New Canaan, CT (YMCA), and Exeter, NH (Phillips Exeter Academy). |
Practices
Weekly practices will include both pool and land work. Novice swimmers will practice 2-3 hours per week. Intermediate swimmers will practice 4-5 hours per week. Strength and Flexibility Training Competition swimmers will work on strength and flexibility throughout their season. This will occur during practice as well as weekly during specifically designed dry-land sessions that will help swimmers meet individual and team goals. Programs are based in the principles of Alixa Flexibility Methodology. Swimmers will work with their coaches to develop home practice. |
